id=\"s-dataroad-realiza-migracao-de-cerca-de-50-caixas-de\">DataRoad migrates around 50 mailboxes to Microsoft 365 Exchange Online at the Union of Parishes of Massam\u00e1 and Monte Abra\u00e3o<\/h2>\n<p>A <strong>DataRoad<\/strong> was selected under <strong>civil service examination<\/strong>, for the <strong>Union of Parishes of Massam\u00e1 and Monte Abra\u00e3o<\/strong> to execute the <strong>migration of about 50 mailboxes<\/strong> to <strong>Microsoft 365 Exchange Online<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The project included the full transfer of content (email, structure and associated data) to the Microsoft cloud and the <strong>reconfiguration of workstations and mobile devices<\/strong>, ensuring operational continuity and a smooth transition for users.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>More information about the procedure:<\/strong> available in <strong>BASE Portal (base.gov.pt)<\/strong>, the national portal that centralises information on public contracts entered into in Portugal, allowing for tracking and monitoring.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<hr \/>\n<h2 id=\"s-migracao-para-exchange-online-mais-mobilidade-gest\">Migration to Exchange Online: greater mobility, centralised management and business continuity<\/h2>\n<p>O <strong>Microsoft Exchange Online<\/strong> it is a hosted messaging solution that provides <strong>email, calendar, contacts and tasks<\/strong> with access from <strong>PC<\/strong>, do <strong>browser<\/strong> and of <strong>mobile devices<\/strong>, thereby supporting hybrid working models and mobility.<\/p>\n<p>When migrating to Exchange Online, organisations benefit from a managed service in Microsoft datacenters, with comprehensive access and centralised administration capabilities.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, Exchange Online plans include protection mechanisms such as <strong>anti-spam\/anti-malware<\/strong>, mobile device policies and service continuity features (e.g. redundancy and SLA), making the platform particularly suitable for entities that value availability and security.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2 id=\"s-o-que-foi-implementado-pela-dataroad-ambito-do-pro\">What was implemented by DataRoad (project scope)<\/h2>\n<p>DataRoad's intervention included two essential components:<\/p>\n<h3>1) Complete migration of mailbox content<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Transfer of contents from the boxes to the <strong>Microsoft 365 Exchange Online<\/strong> (including history and organisation)<\/li>\n<li>Planning the appropriate migration path based on the number of mailboxes and the customer scenario, following best practices and recommended tools for migrations to Microsoft 365\/Exchange Online<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>2) Reconfiguration of users, PCs and mobile devices<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Reconfiguration of <strong>jobs<\/strong> (Outlook and profiles) and post\u2011migration validation<\/li>\n<li>Reconfiguration and validation in <strong>mobile devices<\/strong>, ensuring connectivity and synchronisation (email\/calendar\/contacts)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This design reduces downtime and prevents drops in productivity, especially in environments with multiple users and administrative teams.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2 id=\"s-porque-esta-migracao-e-relevante-para-autarquias-e\">Why this migration is relevant for local authorities and public bodies<\/h2>\n<p>In public entities, email is often the most critical channel for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>corporate communications,<\/li>\n<li>response to citizen,<\/li>\n<li>supplier interaction,<\/li>\n<li>administrative processes and digital filing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Therefore, migrating to a cloud messaging platform with capabilities of <strong>governance, retention, auditing and eDiscovery<\/strong> it is an important step to strengthen control and compliance of the email lifecycle.<br \/>\nExchange Online supports, for example, compliance and information protection features such as <strong>DLP (Data Loss Prevention)<\/strong>, <strong>Litigation Hold<\/strong>, <strong>audit<\/strong> and search features for legal and regulatory needs.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2 id=\"s-seguranca-e-conformidade-fundamentos-que-acompanha\">Security and compliance: fundamentals that accompany Exchange Online<\/h2>\n<p>Modernising email isn't just about \u201cmoving boxes\u201d: it's about reinforcing <strong>security<\/strong> e <strong>compliance<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In Exchange Online, the security and compliance component includes, amongst others:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>retention and preservation policies<\/strong> (e.g., Litigation Hold \/ eDiscovery)<\/li>\n<li><strong>data leakage protection<\/strong> (DLP) for sensitive data and PII<\/li>\n<li><strong>mobile device policies<\/strong> and customer access management using compatible devices<\/li>\n<li><strong>anti-spam and anti-malware protection<\/strong> integrated to reduce the risk of email threats<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It is in this balance (productivity + security + management) that a well-conducted migration generates real value.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2 examination<\/strong> and the procedure classification\/consultation can be done at <strong>BASE Portal<\/strong>, whose main function is to centralise information on public contracts entered into in Portugal and to publicise relevant elements regarding their formation and execution.<\/p>\n<p>The BASE is an instrument of <strong>transparency and monitoring<\/strong> in public procurement,
